How to Translate a Web Page Into Another Language

Most modern browsers can automatically translate web pages into your preferred language. Follow the instructions below for your browser.

Google Chrome

  1. Open the website you want to translate.
  2. If the page is in a different language, Chrome will show a translation popup near the address bar.
  3. Click Translate.
  4. To choose a different language, click the three dots in the popup and select Choose another language.
  5. Right-click anywhere on the page.
  6. Click Translate to English (or your default language).
  7. To change the target language:
  • Click the Google Translate icon in the address bar.
  • Select your preferred language.

Microsoft Edge

  1. Open the webpage.
  2. If the page is in another language, Edge will show a translation popup in the address bar.
  3. Click Translate.
  4. To select a different language:
  • Click the translate icon in the address bar.
  • Choose your desired language from the dropdown menu.

If no popup appears:

  • Click the Translate icon in the address bar manually.

Safari (Mac)

Safari uses Apple’s built-in translation feature.

  1. Open the webpage.
  2. In the address bar, click the Translate button (speech bubble icon).
  3. Select Translate to [Your Language].
  4. If prompted, click Enable Translation.
  • Click the translate icon again and select a different available language.

Mozilla Firefox

Firefox may require a translation extension.

  1. Open the webpage.
  2. Click the Translate icon in the address bar.
  3. Choose your preferred language.
  4. Click Translate.
  5. Click the menu (☰) in the top-right corner.
  6. Select Add-ons and Themes.
  7. Search for Google Translate or another translation extension.
  8. Click Add to Firefox.
  9. Use the extension icon to translate pages.
